has a centuries old wine-producing heritage

The Domaine de La Pierre Latine also has a rich wine heritage, which is unsurprising as it is located in Yvorne, a small village on the hillside of the Chablais region in the canton of Vaud. The Chablais region borders the Rhone to the west and the town of Aigle to the east. It borders Lake Geneva in the north and the canton of Valais to the south.

The domaine comprises over 15 hectares of land, on steep terraced slopes that require hand harvesting. Every plot enjoys a west/southwest exposure. While Chasselas is the primary grape of the vineyard, the soil, rich in alluvium, sediment, scree and gravel, is also well-suited to other white and red grape varieties, including Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir and Gamay. Increasingly, as a result of global warming, strategic plantings of Merlot and Syrah are also producing delicious wines.
